Customs Exemption Certificate

The Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia can issue certificates enabling duty free import of household items only into Serbia, up to the value of 5,000 EUROS.

Nationals of the Republic of Serbia, who have spent at least 2 years without interruption working abroad are entitled to apply for a Customs Exemption Certificate. Household items up to the value of 5,000 Euros can be imported into Serbia within one year from the date of return to Serbia.

To apply for the Customs Exemption Certificate, please provide the following:

  1. valid passport of the Republic of Serbia;
  2. employer letter confirming that you have been employed continuously for a minimum period of 2 years. If retired, letter confirming the period of receipt of pension/supperannuation;
  3. total period of time spent in Australia or New Zealand and date of entry into the country;
  4. application fee of AUD$239.00 AUD, payable in cash, bank cheque or money order.  

If applying by post, please provide a pre-paid self-addressed envelope (Express or Registered Post recommended). If applying from New Zealand, add $15.00 AUD for postage.
