The 16th Serbian Film Festival in Australia was officially opened with the screening of the film "A Stinking Fairytale", by director Miroslav Momcilovic, on Friday 21/10/2016 at the "Cinema Paris FOX Studio" in Sydney. The Festival will be held across Australia (Sydney, Canberra, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth) from 21/10/2016 to 8/11/2016, showcasing four of the most recent films of Serbian cinema, including: A Stinking Fairytale - Miroslav Momcilovic; Humidity – Nikola Ljuca; Double Trouble - Rados Bajic and The Black Pin - Ivan Marinovic. After the opening speech by the host Director Milica Kozlina, and introduction of this year’s special guest, the lead actor in the film "Humidity" Milos Timotijević, the Consul General Mr. Branko Radosevic who is one of the founding members of the Festival, addressed the attendees with his speech.

This year, the Festival opening night guests enjoyed the performance of the mixed choir "Jedinstvo" from Banja Luka. Over the past 16 years, the festival has provided the Australian audiences, as well as the Serbian Diaspora on the "fifth continent", with an insight into the creative side of a rich Serbian culture.
